Harold D. "Danny" Perkins, 65, of Dawsonville, died April 15, 2013.

Born Oct. 17, 1947, in Kennesaw to the late Raymond and Dora Berma Perkins, he lived most of his life in Dawson County.

Mr. Perkins was a graduate of Dawson County High School and Pickens Technical College with a degree in HVAC.

Danny was employed a short time with Georgia Marble Company, after which he worked for the U.S. Postal Service until he retired as a supervisor with more than 25 years of service.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

His wife, Mary Frances Perkins; and brothers, Eugene Perkins and Larry Perkins, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Nicole and Derrick Powell, Kellie Perkins and fiancé Jerry Yarbrough, all of Dawsonville; sister and brother-in-law, Cynthia and Scott Tatum of Dawsonville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Shirel Perkins, David and Sandra Perkins, all of Dawsonville, Rodney Perkins of Daytona Beach, Fla., Susan Perkins of Monticello, Minn.; grandchildren, Megan Powell, Jake Powell, Cole Edwards, Cade Edwards; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. April 17 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Panter officiating. Interment will follow in the Juno Baptist Church Cemetery.
