Glenn Edwin Weld, 82, of Gainesville, died Dec. 19, 2017.
He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where he had been a Sunday School teacher. Glenn was briefly in the United States Army and then re-enlisted in the United States Air Force as a career Senior Master Sergeant. Later he was a poultry farmer and owner and operator of Noah’s Ark pet shop in Cumming. Glenn enjoyed gardening, fishing and any outdoor activities.
His sons, John Weld, Robert Weld; and three sisters, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Shelba Weld of Gainesville; children, Janet (Vance) McMillian of Blue Ridge, Rhonda Weld of Gainesville, Mark (Jennifer) Weld of Gainesville, Rachel (Rodgers) Austin of Dawsonville; four sisters; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Dec. 23 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Sorrells and Rev. Jeff Wilkie officiating. Remains were placed in state at 1 p.m. at the church. Interment followed in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family received friends from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Dec. 22 at Ingram Funeral Home.
Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
