Glen Pat Gober, 76, of Dawsonville, died Dec. 17, 2016.

Born June 20, 1940 in Forsyth County, to the late George and Mary Kate Gober, he had lived in Dawson County since the 1960s.

Mr. Gober was employed as a U.S.D.A. poultry inspector for 35 years.

Pat also worked as a farmer and served many years as the president of the Dawson County Chapter of Georgia Farm Bureau and was a founding member of the Dawson County Jaycees.

He received many awards and special recognitions from several of Georgia's sitting governors.

He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

His first wife, Jerrie Dean Gober, also preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Jessie Lynn Gober of Dawsonville; children, Chris and Elaine Gober, Bryan and Stella Gober, Jessie Wayne Boling, Kelly and Tommy Gillian, Cody and Scott Wood, all of Dawsonville; sister, Gloria Ann Wallis of Cumming; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Dec. 20 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tony Holtzclaw officiating. Interment followed in the New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
