Gladys Roland Bearden, 85, of Dawsonville, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2009.

A lifelong resident of Dawson County, Mrs. Bearden was a homemaker and a member of Amicalola Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Malcolm Bearden; parents, John Henry and Rebecca Roland; sisters, Esta Worley, Elda Roland, Geneva Wilson, Alice Phyfe; brother, Donas D. Roland.

Survivors include many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21 at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Hugh Fields and Harvey Smith officiating.

Interment followed in the Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
