Gladys D. Turner, 98, of Dawsonville, died Dec. 1, 2011.

Born Jan. 12, 1913, in McDonough to the late William and Onie Davis, she had lived in Lumpkin County for more than 30 years, having moved from Powder Springs.

Mrs. Turner was employed for many years at Sears in downtown Atlanta, after which she worked at Rich's until her retirement.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dawsonville.

Her husband, Luther J. Turner and several sisters and brothers, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Janette Turner of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Mike and Dana Turner, Ricky Turner; great-grandchildren, Brian Turner, Nicholas Turner and Emma Turner; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Dec. 3 at the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. Jim Gaines officiating. Interment followed in the Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
