Gladys Bearden

Gladys Bearden, 92, of Alpharetta, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009.

  

Born July 19, 1916 in Dawson County to the late John and Melinda Bearden, she moved to Calhoun at an early age and had lived in Fulton County for the past 60 years.

  

Gladys retired from Avon after more than 25 years of service and was also preceded in death by sisters, Minnie Thompson, Ella Moss; brothers, Homer Bearden, Boyd Bearden, Carl Bearden, Grady Bearden and Silvey Bearden.

  

Survivors include a host of generations of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

  

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 18 at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. James Phillips, Bud Sutton and Morris Bearden officiating.

  

Interment followed in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

  

In lieu of flowers, donations were requested be made to Vitas Innovative Hospice Care, 1575 Northside Drive, Suite 470, Atlanta, GA 30318.

  

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
