George “Vic” Victor Nutter, 75, of Dawsonville, died Aug. 10, 2018.
Born July 21, 1943 in Christiansburg, Va. to the late George V. Nutter Sr. and Mary Shoun Nutter, Vic was a proud Veteran who honorably served in the U.S. Navy for over 20 years. Following his Naval service, he retired from Walmart after 19 years of service.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing and his grandchildren. Vic was a faithful member of Harvest Baptist Church in Dawsonville.
A sister and brother-in-law, Anna Jean and Louis Thompson, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his loving wife of 22 years, Melanie Nutter; brother and sister-in-law, John A. and Joan Nutter of White, Ga.; daughter, Karen Nutter of Pensacola, Fla.; sons, Steve Nutter of Opelika, Ala., Nathan and Leslie Woodson of Cleveland, Ga., John and Rebecca Woodson of San Diego, Calif., and Scott and Ashley Woodson of Cleveland, Ga.; nephews and nieces, Barry Thompson of Virginia, Brian and Rita Thompson of Virginia, Doug and Brenda Horne of Virginia, Johnny and Daphne Nutter of Georgia; 15 grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Aug. 16 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Mark Biddy will officiate. Interment services will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Georgia National Cemetery with military honors.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
