George Veston “Vet” Higgins, 89, of Cumming, died Jan. 21, 2011.

Vet was born in Forsyth County to the late Wesley and Belle Higgins and was a lifelong member of Cross Roads Baptist Church.

His sisters, Pauline Higgins, Grace Warren and Kathleen Samples, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Terrell and Ruby Higgins; brother-in-law, Crant Samples; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Jan. 23 at Cross Roads Baptist Church with the Revs. Gerald Blackburn and Dennis Bottoms officiating. Interment followed at Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
