George Roscoe "Pop" Thomas, 97, of Cumming, died June 27, 2012.

He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, a member of Mt. Zion Lodge #316 F&AM and Forsyth County Steam Engine Association.

Roscoe was a co-founder of Thomas Brothers Lumber Company.

His wife of 71 years, Alta Lee "Runt' Bagby Thomas; parents, George W. and Beulah Mae Thomas; brothers, Mahlon "Doodler" Thomas and Bonnie Thomas; sister, Geneva Martin, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Leroy Hubbard, Joy and John Dooley, all of Cumming; grandchildren, Tim Hubbard, Russ and Kristie Hubbard, Caren Dooley, all of Cumming, Jennifer and Chris D'Agnese of Winder; great-grandchildren, T.C., Josh, Jake and Sarah Hubbard, Christian Thomas D'Agnese; sisters, Mary Ruth Gravitt of Buford, Dorothy Jean Burruss of Cumming, Inez Smith of Gainesville; brother, Harold Dean "Bud" Thomas of Cumming; sister-in-law, Mary Alice Thomas of Cumming; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. June 29 at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Tim Hubbard, T.C. Hubbard, Josh Hubbard and Danny Bennett officiating. Interment followed at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
