George F. Henderson
George F. Henderson, 87, of Cumming, formerly of Dawsonville, died Aug. 4, 2018. Born Aug. 20, 1930 in Detroit, Mich. to the late Charles F. and Bessie Henderson, he grew up in Rome, Georgia and has lived in this area for 16 years having moved from Knoxville, Tenn. Mr. Henderson retired as a mechanic for Eastern Airlines following 17 years of service. George was a proud U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed fishing, wood working, reading, crossword puzzles, spending time on his computer building websites and enjoyed his Facebook friends. His wife of 55 years, Barbara Sue Henderson; son-in-law, Matthew Van Vliet; grandsons, Brian Hawkins, Kevin Beall; great-granddaughter, Laura Leigh Brooks; sister, Ethel Gribble; and brothers, Ed Henderson and Charles Henderson, preceded him in death.
