George Ellsworth Quigley Sr., 82, of Dawsonville, died Dec. 8, 2016.

Mr. Quigley was born July 24, 1934 in Port Salerno, Fla.

His parents, Owen and Rosa Quigley; sister, Rosemary Stevenson; brothers, Jesse Quigley and Joe Quigley, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma C. Quigley; daughter, Debora and David Bales of Jasper; son, George E. Quigley Jr. of Dawsonville, Gary Quigley of South Carolina; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Memorial services were held at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 11 at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Dawsonville.

Memorial contributions were requested made to Dawson Christian Firefighters, 34 Woods Dr., Dawsonville, GA 30534.

Byars Funeral Home of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
