George Edward Bellinger, Jr., 83, of Alpharetta, died Aug. 1, 2009.
A native of Illinois, he was the son of the late George E. and Gladys Bellinger.
His beloved wife, Barbara; and grandson, Brandon, also preceded him in death.
Mr. Bellinger served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the American Legion. He loved hunting and was an avid fisherman — especially enjoying fishing with Matthew in the Florida Keys. He was a great man, a greater father and a wonderful grandfather.
Survivors include his sons, Jeff and Tim Bellinger of Dawsonville, Matthew (Ana) Bellinger of Islamorado, Fla.; daughters, Georgann Lord of Alpharetta, Jennifer Blake of Jacksonville, Fla.; sister, Marylu Lyman of Decatur, Ill.; brother, Jack (Patricia) Bellinger of Paris, Ill.; grandchildren, Timothy, Jason, Justine, Jay, Megan and Forrest; great-grandchildren, Ashton, Brook, Beau, Jonathan, Addison and Jace; various other relatives also survive.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6 in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, Aug. 6 from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
