Gene C. Potts, 66, of Dawsonville, died Dec. 19, 2011.

Born June 3, 1945 in Atlanta to the late Joe and Maudie Potts, he had lived in Dawson County since 1991, having moved from Cumming.

Mr. Potts was formerly employed by Tatum Farms and was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam, where he served as a medic.

Survivors include his companion, Terry Ruth Adams of Dawsonville; special friends, Laura and Troy England, Terrill and Connie Adams, Danny Adams, all of Dawsonville, Becky and Steve Benefield of Ellijay, Dwayne Adams of Canton, Randy Adams of Jasper, and all of their children; various other relatives also survive.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 7 at McKees Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jason Hamby officiating.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
