Gary Donald Burnette, age 68, of Dawsonville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021. Gary was a devoted family man and loved his Georgia Bulldogs. Born in Alma, Ga., Gary lived there until he graduated high school then moved permanently to the Cumming area in 1970. Gary was the youngest of 13 children from Oscar and Mamie Burnette. He worked hard his entire life, but he played hard with his animals and outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing in his younger years then gardening and landscaping in his later years. 

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Janie; daughter, Julie O’Connor (James); son, Allen Robinson (JoAnna); daughter, Danielle Duncan; and son, Jeremy Burnette. Gary had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who affectionately called him “Papa” and had numerous nephews and nieces. Gary was loved very, very much.

Viewing was held at Ingrams Funeral Home on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021, from 4 to 7 p.m.  The family received friends at the funeral home on Monday.
