Fred Youngman, 67, of Dawsonville, died Wednesday, June 17, 2009.

  

Born June 28, 1941 in Port Jervis, N.Y., to the late Sam and Margie Youngman, Fred had lived in Dawson County for the past 21 years, having moved from Forsyth County.

  

He was a certified land surveyor for over 30 years and for many years owned and operated Youngman Surveying.

  

He was elected as Dawson County Surveyor four terms.

  

Mr. Youngman was a U.S. Navy veteran and was a life member of the V.F.W.

  

He attended Grace Presbyterian Church.

  

Survivors include his wife, Linda Youngman of Dawsonville; children, Fred K. Youngman of Flowery Branch, Tom and Sharon Youngman of Tallahassee, Fla., David and Jennifer Youngman of Dunwoody, Jaime and Jason Harper of Cumming, Bo Wilson of Dawsonville, Gina Wilson of Dahlonega; sister, Mary Durland of Port Jervis, N.Y.; niece, Cassie Durland of Port Jervis, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 20 at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mark Weaver officiating.

  

Interment followed in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.

  

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
