Frances Nell Vaughan, 88, of Dawsonville, died Feb. 4, 2017.

Born Nov. 25, 1928 to the late Horace and Christine Strickland, she had been a resident of Dawsonville for the past 13 years.

Spending most of her life in Alpharetta, Frances was a graduate of Milton High School and worked as a beautician with a salon in her home for many years.

She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Milton, where she served as pianist for a number of years.

Her husband, Howard Vaughan, and sister-in-law, Mary Strickland, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Janet Vaughan of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Naomi and Kenneth Webb, Brent Vaughan, Timothy Vaughan, all of Dawsonville; great-grandchildren, Madison Webb, Gregory Webb; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Roy Martin of Cherokee County; brothers and sister-in-law, Roy Lee and Betty Strickland of Douglasville, Louie Strickland of Florida; various other relatives also survive.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Feb. 8 at Green Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Danny Bennett officiating.

In lieu of flowers, Frances requested donations be made to Bethany Baptist Church, 2065 Bethany Church Rd., Alpharetta, GA 30004.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
