Frances Louise Moore Simpson, 86, died Feb. 7, 2013.

Born Oct. 9, 1926, in Bethlehem, she was a native of Barrow County, but had lived in Oklahoma since 1981, specifically Tuttle, Okla., for a majority of that time.

She was a former member of The Eastern Star, sang in Sweet Adeline's, served as Sunday School Teacher and officer of Women's Society of Christian Service (UMW). Though she experienced a variety of unique employments, her most loved job was nurturing and being involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her varied interests were church, reading, music, all things needlework and any activity involving the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her parents, Dewey Gartrelle and Abie Louise Griffeth Moore; and grandson, Anthony Bennett, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Delores Simpson of Auburn, Ga., Melanie and Jamie Schneider of Gainesville, Gay and Loyte Bennett of Dawsonville, Donna and Larry Windsor of Tuttle, Okla.; son, Durward Simpson of Athens; nine grandchildren, Stephen, David, Jason, April, Carrie, Katy, James Ross, Jessica and Rachel; 11 great-grandchildren, Payton, Hope, Chase, Taylor, Colton, Mayson, Grady, Clara Jean, Josie Francis, Luke and Kaitlyn; sisters, Dorothy Peppers and Geraldine Doster; aunt, Mary Anthony; uncle, Edd Griffith; brothers/sisters-in-law, Joy and Ben Black, Pat and Bobby Whitmire; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Feb. 11 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home in Winder with the Rev. Ed Demirgian of Gainesville officiating. Interment followed in Carl Baptist Cemetery in Carl.

In lieu of flowers, donations were requested made to her church, Tuttle Christian Church, 216 W. Bond, Tuttle, OK 73089.
