Frances Kendrix, 76, of Dawsonville, died July 24, 2012.

Born April 1, 1936 to the late Dave and Elizer Kimbral, she spent most of her life in Dawson County.

Mrs. Kendrix was employed at Tyson for many years, after which she worked at Cumming Nursing Center for 25 years until her retirement.

She attended Settendown Baptist Church and was known for her hard working spirit and loving character.

Her husbands, Hayne Stowers and Gene Kendrix; sisters, Pearl, Blanche, Christine; and brothers, Slim, Chesley and Kimsey, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her companion of 21 years, C.J. Purcell of Dawsonville; daughter, Tina Shirley of Dawsonville; sons and daughters-in-law, Carl and Rhonda Stowers, David and Joann Stowers, Tony Kendrix, all of Dawsonville, Ralph and Pam Stowers of Jasper, Jack and Jenny Kendrix of Suches; sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda Thompson, Martha Moulder, both of Cumming, Irene and Eugene Higgins of Dawsonville; brothers, Shorty Kimbral of Cumming, Leonard Kimbral of Ball Ground; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. July 27 at Settendown Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony Estes officiating. Interment followed in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
