Frances George Sparrow, 86, of Dawsonville, died April 16, 2011.

 

Born March 12, 1925 in Preston to the late W. Leo and Ethel Alston, she had lived in Dawson County for the past 12 years, having moved from Cumming.

 

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was a homemaker and a member of Cornerstone Christian Church.

 

Her husband, Robert P. Sparrow; sister, Mildred Nash; and a brother, Bill Alston, preceded her in death.

 

Survivors include her children, Sheila Sparrow, Sherri and Mark Helms, all of Dawsonville, Stan and Judi Sparrow of Roswell; sister, Mary West of Austell; brother and sister-in-law, Clint and Frances Alston of Roswell; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

 

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. April 21 at Cornerstone Christian Church with the Pastor Joe Gaines officiating.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 2452 Spring Rd., Smyrna, GA 30080.

 

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
