Foster "Gene" Bennett, 86, of Cumming, died Feb. 19, 2015.

He was an active member of Living Stones Baptist Church.

He was involved in freemasonry as a member of the Indian Springs Masonic Lodge, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of Yaarab Shrine.

He proudly served his country in the United States Navy.

His son-in-law, Richard E. Martin, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Julia "Judy" Bennett of Cumming; daughters, Cathy and Amos Fields, Judy Martin and Sandra and Scotty Hames; brother, C.W. and Bessie Bennett Jr. of Lithia Springs; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Feb. 22 in the chapel of the Ingram Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Williams officiating. Interment followed in Sawnee View Gardens.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
