Floyd Chester, 75, of Cumming, died April 28, 2018.
Born and raised in Dawsonville, Floyd had been a resident of Cumming for over 50 years. A family man, hard worker, avid outdoorsman and faithful friend, he was known for his humor, quick wit and “smart mouth.” Floyd was of Christian faith and worked for over 30 years with Larry Watson Digging.
His mother, Hattie “Punk” Kincaid, and son, David Chester, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his previous wife, Brenda Ramey of Dawsonville; son, Jeffery Chester of Dawsonville; brother, Jimmy Kincaid of Dawsonville; granddaughter, Jessica Chester of Cumming; great-granddaughter, Penelope Chester; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Collins of Cumming, Patricia Collins Stephens of Pickens, S.C.; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
The family received friends at 1 p.m. April 30 at Bearden Funeral Home. A memorial service followed at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Rual Martin officiating. The family met at 4:30 p.m. at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens for interment.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to help offset final expenses.
