Evelyn Shaw Waldrep, 89, of Flovilla, Ga., formerly of Dawsonville, died Oct. 12, 2017.
Born Oct. 31, 1927 in Ozark, Ala. to the late Jim Bob and Connie Pearl Carr, she moved to Dawson County in 1984 and lived here until moving to Flovilla eight years ago.
A homemaker at her death, Mrs. Waldrep volunteered at Northeast Georgia Medical Center for many years. Evelyn was a wonderful mother and enjoyed her friends.
Her husbands, Ellis Lee Shaw and Earl D. Waldrep; daughter, Dianna Lynn Clark; son, Darrell Dane Clark; and two grandsons preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Janice Lee Andrew of Milwaukie, Ore., Patricia Anne Beaver of Forest Lake, Minn., Sharon Sue and Kevin Forner of St. Paul, Minn., Dixie Lane and William “Bill” Thomas, Sr. of Flovilla, Ga.; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; brothers, James Carr, Paul Carr of Fla.; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Oct. 15 at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Sanders officiating.
Interment followed in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family received friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 15 at the funeral home.
Bearden Funeral Home in Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
