Eva Bearden, 94, of Dawsonville, died Jan. 20, 2014.

Born Sept. 18, 1919 to the late Carl and Maude Sewell, she lived most of her life in Dawson County.

Eva was a homemaker who possessed a passion for working her flower gardens, gardening and canning. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.

Her husband, Henry Grady Bearden; daughter, Delores Kirby; grandchildren, Chad Timms, Glenn Kirby, Kimberly Kirby; and sisters, Alma Montcalm and Thelma Reece, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Leon and Mary Bearden, Ronnie Bearden, Janelle Reeves, Tony and Shirley Bearden, Ricky Bearden, all of Dawsonville, Judy and David Dospoy of Saginaw, Mich., Steve Bearden of Dahlonega; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Jan. 23 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with the Revs. Jason Hamby and Larry Beck officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations were requested to help assist with final expenses.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
