Elmer "Elmo" Samuel Evans, 69, of Pickens County, died Monday, Feb. 22, 2010.

  

His daughter, Rebecca Lynn Evans; sisters and brothers, Melba Cain, Jess Evans, Ansel (Hank) Evans, Gene Evans and Marvin Evans; parents, the Rev. Rufus and Gretell Evans; and special love, Vanessa Akins, preceded him in death.

  

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Edward Samuel and Kelly Evans of Pickens County; grandchildren, Rebecca, Chelsea, Americus, Dustin and Austin; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dessie Westbrook of Dawsonville, Flonnie and Don Westbrook of Marietta, Annelle and Jerry Self of Woodstock; brother and sister-in-law, J.L. and Jama Evans of Dawsonville; ex-wife, Linda Frady Evans of Jasper; sisters-in-law, Alice Evans, Doris Evans, both of Cumming, Mildred Evans of Dawsonville; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25 in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Shannon Westbrook and Joe Frady officiating.

  

Interment will follow in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery.

  

The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24 and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service, Thursday, Feb. 25.

  

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming is in charge of the arrangements.
