Ellen Rosanna “Sis” Lance, 73, of Dahlonega, died Sept. 2, 2018.
Ellen was born in Hall County on April 23, 1945 to the late Hoyt Bealer and Elda Mae Bell Sheriff Lance.
Ellen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Lumpkin County. She was a very talented artist and her passion was painting portraits. Ellen loved music and jewelry and when she entered the room she was the life of the party. She was a unique and very straight forward person, but the great quality of Ellen was her love for her family. She proved it every day. Ellen loved her genealogy, and she was proud of her Indian heritage.
Her sister, Gail Lance, and brothers, Jeff Lance, Roy “Jeep” Lance, and Nickey Lance, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Lewis Crumley; daughter, Trenda Cochran; brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Betty Lance; sister and brother-in-law, Torina Walls and Wyatt Bales; sister, Wanda Britt; special friend, Lonnie Gunnells; grandsons, Quantavius McClendon and ZaQuan McClendon; granddaughter, Aaliyah McClendon; grandson,Trenton Brooksher; grandchildren, Lacy and Jacelyn “Little Ellen” Wilson, Ciara Rider, Shashowna Jackson, and Dystuny Manning; special nephews, Levi, Lance, and Logan Walls, Troy Bridges, Nicholas Lance, Scotty Lance and Jeff Lance; special nieces, Gail Hester, Denise Chester, Donna Turner and Brooke Lance; several other grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives that were all very special and too many to mention.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sept. 9 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Lumpkin County. Bishop Mike Wall officiated. Interment followed in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family received friends from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 9 at the funeral home.
Banister Funeral Home of Dahlonega was in charge of the arrangements.
