Eldon O. Miller, 74, of Dawsonville, died April 9, 2014.
Born June 26, 1939, in Lumpkin County to the late Rev. Ance and Elizabeth Miller, he had lived in Dawson County for more than 50 years.
Eldon and his wife owned and operated Miller's Cloth Shop in Dawsonville for 47 years and in Morganton for more than 30 years.
For many years he farmed and continued growing a huge garden, which he enjoyed sharing with family and friends.
He never met a stranger and enjoyed talking and sharing stories with everyone.
He was a member of Nimblewill Baptist Church.
His brothers, Doyle Miller, Delbert Miller, A.J. Miller; and sisters, Bessie Miller, Bonelle Satterfield and Ozelle Carder preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Doris Cain Miller of Dawsonville; children, Darwin and Delhia Miller, Glenda and Greg Freeman, Bradley and Katie Miller, all of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Alexandra Miller, Kayla Miller, Ashlan Miller, Haden Miller; great-grandson, Cason Suddereth; sister, Blanche Hayes of Dahlonega; sisters-in-law, Linda Miller, Kathleen Miller Acery, both of Gainesville, Dorothy Tatum of Dawsonville; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. April 12 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dean Pugh officiating. Interment followed in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
