Edwin Junior Garner, 80, of Dahlonega, died Dec. 1, 2013.

Born Aug. 14, 1933 to the late John and Ester Garner, he had been a resident of Lumpkin County for more than 10 years, coming from Forsyth County.

A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he was an avid fisherman, outdoorsman and member of Chestatee Baptist Church in Hall County.

His sister, Mildred Smith; and a brother, Johnny Garner, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Lorelle Garner of Dahlonega; son, Danny "Cotton" Garner of Marble Hill; daughters and son-in-law, Sandra Colbert of Dahlonega, Wanda and Stevie Chadwick of Dawsonville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Noveline and Thomas Baker, Christine and Cecil Reeves, Herman Smith, all of Dawsonville, Juanita and Hartwell Lovell of Oakwood; sister-in-law, Glenda Garner of Dahlonega; grandchildren, Stevie and Sherry Chadwick, Danielle and Ryan Edmonds, Travis and Heather Garner, Nathan and Amber Chadwick, Faye Colbert, Amanda and Ryan Sullens; great-grandchildren, Trey, D'laina and Sydney Chadwick, Maeson Edmonds, Judd Garner; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Dec. 3 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Cecil Reeves and Stevie Chadwick officiating. Interment followed in the Chestatee Baptist Church Cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
