Edwin Jackie Jack Holbrook

Edwin Jackie "Jack" Holbrook, 77, of Cumming, died July 7, 2011.

He served in the United States Army as an MP in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He was a past member of the Lions Club, Kiwanis, Cumming Jaycees and the Cumming Shriners.

Jackie was a well-known figure in the community and owned and several businesses in the past including Holbrook Hardware, Jack's Restaurant and Holbrook Food Store.

He was also involved in Western Steer Steakhouses in Georgia and Tennessee.

He worked the past 22 years at Andean Chevrolet.

His passion was his garden, flowers, his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Ruth McGee Holbrook; children, Jodi Smith, Jonie and Tony Stowe, all of Cumming, Tracie and Lori Holbrook of Dawsonville; four grandchildren, Natalie and Kyle Stowe, Darrell Smith and Jason Holbrook; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. July 10 at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
