Edna C. Perry, 91, of Dawsonville, died Sept. 3, 2010.

  

Born Jan. 13, 1919 in Gillsville, Ga., to the late O.V. and Lena Buffington, she lived in Dawson County for a number of years, moved to Enterprise, Ala., and returned to Dawsonville 13 years ago.

  

A homemaker at her death, she retired as a cashier for A&P after 20 years of service.

  

She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

  

Her husband, Monroe Perry; stepmother, Mattie Buffington; grandson, Jordon Brown; brothers, Raymond Buffington, Ralph Buffington; and sister-in-law, Irene Buffington, preceded her in death.

  

Survivors include her children, Aaron and Jo Ann Perry of Loganville, Joyce and Bill Sexton of Dawsonville, Jean and Clifford Rice of Locust Grove, Faye Perry of Albuquerque, N.M.; sister, Gertrude Parker of Manchester, Ga.; brothers, Douglas Buffington of Loganville, Dan Buffington of Gillsville; 21 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 7 at Bethel United Methodist Church with the Dr. Orin Sampson and the Rev. Sven Mossenger officiating.

  

Interment followed in the Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery.

  

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
