A lifelong resident of Forsyth County, Edith was born April 24, 1917, the second child of Arthur and Beulah Wallis Sosebee. She completed High School at Cumming High School in 1934, where she was on the school's basketball team.

She graduated from Reinhardt Junior College in 1936 and after teaching for several years, she graduated from North Georgia College, receiving her degree in Elementary Education.

Following in the footsteps of her father and sister, Edith began teaching in 1936. She taught for 34 years, 31 of those years in the second grade at Cumming Elementary School. Edith was named Cumming Elementary Teacher of the Year three times and Forsyth County Teacher of the Year in 1976.

Following retirement, Edith enjoyed genealogy, tracing family trees and attending family reunions.

She researched the Wright family to when Samuel Wright came over with General Oglethorpe. She also recorded the family tree of the Sosebee's back to 1816.

From her research Edith wrote the book "Golden Memories" that documents many important family memories. Always active in her church, community and civic affairs, she was a member of Coal Mountain Baptist Church and loved to attend services at Holbrook Campground.

As an avid traveler, Edith visited most of the United States, including a trip to Alaska on her 87th birthday.

In addition to her husband, Edith is preceded in death by her sisters, Grace Forrest, Ruth Lambert, Martha Rich and Jo Ann Sosebee.

Survivors include her son, Arthur (Elaine Floyd) Wright; grandsons, Devin (Susan Mizelle) Wright, Darron (Tonya Rinehart) Wright and Dustin (Carolyn Smith) Wright; great-grandchildren, Emily, Jacob, Megan, Ashley, Trent, Addeline and Abigail; various other relatives also survive.
