Edgar "Eddy" DeCoursey, 59, of Dawsonville, died April 1, 2015.
Born Aug. 2, 1955, and raised in Hindman, Ky., he had been a resident of Dawsonville for the past 30 years.
A member of Bethel Baptist Church and Etowah Lodge No. 222 F&AM, he worked for a number of years as a building inspector for Dawson County.
Affectionately known as "Fast Eddy," he was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, an avid outdoorsman and Kentucky Wildcats fan.
His mother, Patricia DeCoursey, and brother-in-law, Keith Evans, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Angela DeCoursey of Dawsonville; father, Edd DeCoursey of Hindman, Ky.; son and daughter-in-law, Jade and Ashley Teague of Hazard, Ky.; sister, Ginger Combs of Hindman, Ky.; nieces, Haylee Combs and Jeremy Gist of Pikeville, Ky., Rocksy and Rick Smith of Dawsonville; uncle and aunt, Rufus and Faye Moss of Townville, S.C.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Cleve and Mildred Evans of Dawsonville; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Rocky Hughes of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Macyn Teague, Colton Teague, Kaylee Gist, Rori Smith; special friends, Larry and Louise Smith of Dawsonville; various other relatives also survive.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. April 11 at Bethel Baptist Church with the Revs. Stephen Davis, Jason Hamby and Leonard W. Ridings officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
