Douglas Wayne Adams, 57, of Dawsonville, died June 6, 2013.

He was a very loyal family man that loved being a papa.

His parents, Robert Adams and Jacqueline Britt; stepfather, Thomas Britt; brother, James Adams; and sister, Linda King, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his loving wife of 37 years, Candy Adams; daughters, Shawna and Andrew Sumner of Sugar Hill, Courtney and Joseph Lawson of Cumming; grandson, Adam Sumner; brother, Robert Adams of Dahlonega; sister, Ruby Hawley of Raleigh, N.C.; various other relatives also survive.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Doug to the Dawson County Humane Society.
