Dorothy M. Rouse, 96, of Dawsonville, died Dec. 15, 2018.

Born Jan. 27, 1922 in Hall County to the late Leonard and Clara Moore, she lived a number of years in Atlanta and Douglas County before moving to Dawson County in 2001. 

Mrs. Rouse served as a school crossing guard in Atlanta for several years after which she worked in nursing at Cobb General Hospital in Austell. 

Her husband of 78 years, Loy C. Rouse, and a sister, Sue Hoeflich, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Everett and Marsha Rouse of Pine Mountain, Susan Elaine Buchanan of Woodstock, Howard and Norma Rouse of Tybee Island, Bill and Nancy Rouse of Acworth; 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. Dec. 18 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sven Mossinger officiating.  Interment services were held at 3 p.m. at Mozley Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs.

The family received friends from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Dec. 18 at the funeral home.
