Dorothy Bryan, 82, of Atlanta, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008.

  

A native of Dawson County, she lived in Atlanta for over 50 years.

  

Mrs. Bryan owned and operated Dorothy Bryan's Hair Stylist for 40 years.

  

An avid square dancer, she was a member of the Foot and Fiddle Square Dance Club and one of her true loves was working in her flower gardens.

  

She grew up attending Harmony Baptist Church and after moving to Atlanta joined the First Baptist Church of Decatur.

  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Bryan; parents, Homer and Jessie Mae Wilson; sister, Wilma Tatum.

  

Survivors include her stepsons, Gary Bryan, Michael Bryan, both of Atlanta; niece, Sheila Tatum of Winter Park, Colo.; nephew, Jimmy Tatum of Jasper; special friends, J.R. Murray and Scot Murray; various other relatives also survive.

  

Memorial services will be Saturday, Nov. 22 at 2 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Harold Zwald and the Rev. Joey Gilbert officiating.

  

The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
