Doris Fausett, 78, of Dawsonville, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009.

  

A lifelong resident of Dawson County, Mrs. Fausett retired from the Dawson County School System after teaching elementary school for 31 years.

  

She was a charter member of the Dawson County Retired Educators Association, where she served as it's only secretary and treasurer.

  

For many years she was a member of the Dedications gospel-singing group and enjoyed an avid love of gardening.

  

She was an active member of Goshen Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years.

  

Her husband, Randell E. Fausett and parents, Oscar and Kate Gilreath preceded her in death.

  

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Roxanne Fausett of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Zachery Fausett and Jake Fausett; sister, Brenda Gilreath of Dawsonville; brothers and sister-in-law, Billy Gilreath of Albany, Calif., Wendell and Daisy Gilreath of Dawsonville; sister-in-law, Jimmie Fausett of Dawsonville; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2 at Goshen Baptist Church with the Revs. Jason Hamby, Russell Burt and Hugh Fields officiating.

  

Interment followed in the church cemetery.

  

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
