Deborah Lynn Murrell

Deborah Lynn Murrell, 56, of Blairsville, died March 5, 2016.

Deborah was born on Oct. 21, 1959, in Atlanta, a daughter of Ruth London Murrell and the late Hoyt Everett Murrell.

She was a registered nurse, and worked at Chestatee Regional Hospital in Dahlonega.

Deborah had lived in Blairsville for most of her life and was a member of Choestoe Baptist Church.

Her father, Hoyt, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her mother, Ruth of Blairsville; sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Ernie Harkins of Blairsville; brother and sister-in-law, Audie and Joy Murrell of Dahlonega; sister, DeWanda Murrell Loftis of Blairsville; nieces and nephews, Jennifer and Scotty Jarrard, Jay and Amber McCarter, Karla Loftis Kidd, Kasey Loftis, Jimmy and Tonya McCarter; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. March 8 in the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with the Rev. Scotty Jarrard officiating.

The following served as pallbearers: Jay McCarter, Audie Murrell, Ricky Abercrombie, Ernie Harkins, Homer London and Mickey Cummings.

Burial followed in Choestoe Baptist Church Cemetery.

Flowers were accepted, or donations were requested made to the American Cancer Society, or to Challenged Child and Friends, 2360 Murphy Boulevard, Gainesville, GA 30504.

Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville was in charge of the arrangements.
