Deborah Louise Ransom, 60, of Dawsonville, died Sept. 18, 2010.

  

She was the beloved wife of James W. Ransom of Dawsonville and loving mother of Bryan J. Ransom of Jefferson.

  

A native of Snyder, N.Y., she lived in metro Atlanta since 1977. She was an elementary school teacher for 30 years and retired from the Gwinnett County School System in 2009.

  

Her mother, Helen M. Gilboy, preceded her in death.

  

Survivors include her husband, son, daughter-in-law, Devon Ransom of Jefferson; father, John T. Gilboy of Snyder, N.Y.; sisters, Gail Hummel of Columbus, Ohio, Joan Burns of Buffalo, N.Y., Barbara Gilboy of Snyder, N.Y.; granddaughter, Sadie Deborah Ransom; various other relatives also survive.

  

The family will receive friends from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25 at the McDonald and Son Funeral Home.

  

A memorial service will be held immediately following at 11:30 a.m.

Contributions may be made in Deborah's name to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition or the American Cancer Society.

  

McDonald and Son Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming is in charge of the arrangements.
