Davis C. Pennington, 71, of Dawsonville, died Nov. 11, 2014.

Born Dec. 10, 1942 in Atlanta, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 25 years, having moved from Tucker.

Mr. Pennington retired as a manager with Boles Parts Supply with more than 35 years of service.

He loved living on Lake Lanier and enjoyed many years of boating, camping and outdoor life.

His grandson, Hampden "Tiger" Ipser, IV, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Betty Pennington of Dawsonville; daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Pete VanDusen of Cleveland, Tenn., Louise and Jeff Plavcan of Stone Mountain; sister and brother-in-law, Janis and Bob Kohm of Chicago, Ill.; grandchildren, Nichole VanDusen, Christian VanDusen, Nicholas and Ashley Plavcan; great-grandchildren, Madison Eve Plavcan, Katherine Nichole Plavcan; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Nov. 14 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Bro. Buster Stapp officiating. Interment followed in Sawnee View Gardens.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
