David Wayne McCord, 41, of Dawsonville died Monday, June 8, 2020, following a hard-fought battle with cancer.

Born April 4, 1979, David was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. A graduate of Dawson County High School, David was an avid UGA fan. He worked for many years in construction.  David was a very active member of Juno Baptist Church where he helped lead the youth group.  He was a devoted father and avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing with his boys.  David was preceded in death by his father, Wayne McCord, and grandparents, George and Beatrice Vaughters, Emmett and Kathleen McCord.

Surviving are his wife, Franchesca McCord; sons, Brogen and Bryer McCord; stepdaughters, Fabiana Jones, Madeline Eckert; mother, Becky McCord, all of Dawsonville; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and his beloved pet, Rusty.

Due to the COVID-19 regulations, we will continue to follow the appropriate precautions and social distancing.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 13, 2020, at 11 A.M. at Juno Baptist Church.

The family received friends at the funeral home on Friday, June 12, 2020, from 4 to 8 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to help offset final expenses.
