David Shortnacy, 75, of Forsyth County, died March 19, 2015.

His parents, Thomas and Lillian Shortnacy; two sisters, Malvie Shortnacy, Faye Jester; and brother, Eugene Shortnacy; preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Joyce Shortnacy of Forsyth County; children, Lisa Lingerfelt of Forsyth County, Tommy and Valerie Shortnacy of Tate, Bobby and Charlotte Shortnacy of Clermont, Stephanie and Darrell Whitt of Jasper; brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy Joe Shortnacy of Adairsville, J.L. and Nancy Shortnacy of Texas, Aaron and Arlina Shortnacy of Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren, Daniel and Sarah Lingerfelt, Felicia and Derick Lingerfelt, Blake and Sara Shortnacy, Thomas Shortnacy, Austin Shortnacy, Ryan Shortnacy, Faith Shortnacy, Micah Shortnacy, Garrett Shortnacy, April Dyer, Noah Willis, Katie Whitt; great-grandchildren, Patelynn, Jace, Troy, Levi, Anny, Abigail, Heidi and Steven; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. March 21 in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home. Interment followed at Dawsonville Memorial Gardens in Dawsonville.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
