David Lewis Hamby, 76, of Cumming, died Oct. 29, 2013.
Mr. Hamby, a native of Cumming, was the son of the late Lewis Franklin and Ellene Mullinax Hamby.
His sisters, Margie Webb and Margaret Hamby; brothers, Tommy and Edgar Hamby; and step-grandson, Casey Calloway, also preceded him in death.
David was retired from the United States Navy and was the owner and operator of Dental Equipment Repairs for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Hamby of Cumming; son, Wayne Hamby of Cumming; daughters, Leah Leggett of Athens, Susan Hamby of Monroe; stepchildren, Renee and Glen Black of Austell, Chris and Tiffany Cheney of Marietta, Robert and Stephanie Davis of Talking Rock; sisters, Louise Wilbanks of Cumming, Ethel Haney of Winder; brother, John Hamby of Cumming; grandchildren, Nickolas Hamby, Devon Hamby, Mariah Hamby; step-grandchildren, Calvin and Luke Black, Brent Calloway, Katie Adams and Colin and Connor Cheney; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held at noon, Nov. 4 in the McDonald and Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Scott Wilbanks and Larry Wilbanks officiating. Interment followed at 2 p.m. in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
McDonald and Son Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
