David "Dave" Payne, 76, of Dawsonville, died Feb. 1, 2012.

Mr. Payne was born in South Wales and had lived in Dawson County since 2007 having moved from Alpharetta. In his early years he worked as an automobile electrician, after which he became a professional musician for 35 years. For 16 years prior to his retirement he performed for cruise lines.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Inman Payne of Dawsonville; sons, Mark Payne, Simon Payne, both of Cardiff, South Wales; mother, Dorothy Payne of Cardiff, South Wales; brother, Kevin Payne of Cardiff South Wales; various other relatives also survive.

At his request, Mr. Payne was cremated and private services will be held.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
