David Bryan Howser, 55, of Dawsonville, died Sept. 5, 2017.
Born June 5, 1962, David was a graduate of South Cobb High School.
After high school he entered the United State Marine Corps where he served as a Recon Marine. He was a decorated veteran with numerous awards and medals.
He was an avid nature and animal lover, and he will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his children, Kristi and Justin Hayles, Bryan Sims, Roza Gray; granddaughter, Lilly Hayles; father, Robert David Howser III of Dawsonville,; mother, Diahn and Charlie Brown of Conover, NC; sisters and brothers-in-law, Crystal and Danny Gilreath of Monroe, Tanya and Devin Davis of Dawsonville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Greg and Kerri Brown of Grayson, Keith and Angel Brown of Kathleen; niece, Cayla Gilreath and Steven Rodgers; nephew, Winston Davis; great-nephew, Jameson Rodgers; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sept. 9 at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Sorrells officiating.
The family received friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 8 at the funeral home.
Bearden Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
