Danny P. Kirk Jr., 38, of Dahlonega, died Dec. 30, 2014.

Born Feb. 28, 1976 in Augusta, he had been living in Lumpkin County for the past four years, having moved from Jasper.

Danny was very devoted to his family, friends and church. He touched the hearts of all who knew him.

Even though he was only here for what seemed a short time, he was deeply loved and will always be remembered for the joy he brought.

He enjoyed spending time with his son, NASCAR, especially Earnhardt, hunting, fishing and camping.

His mother, Brenda Jo Brunner Spence, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his son, Dylan Kirk of Canton; stepchildren, Alex and Katlin; father, Danny P. Kirk Sr. of Dahlonega; sisters, Donna Merritt of Locus Grove, Deana Pierce of Jasper; brother, Don Smith Jr. of Kansas; various other relatives also survive.

Memorial services were held at 7 p.m. Jan. 8 at the Church of the Apostles, 34 Grant Road, Dawsonville, GA 30534.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
