Danny Ira Sheffield, 62, of Duluth, died Sept. 26, 2013.

Mr. Sheffield was born May 2, 1951, in Dahlonega. He had been a resident of Duluth for most of his life, but loved coming home to the mountains of Dawsonville and Dahlonega. His two greatest loves were his family and motorcycles.

His father, Ira Sheffield, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Lisa and Timmy Bottoms of Cumming, Dana Payne of Winder; mother, Floy Sheffield of Winder; grandmother, Sallie Burt of Dawsonville; sisters, Linda Brookshire of Winder, Wanda Roland of Monroe, Sheila Lockridge of Duluth; brother, Bobby Sheffield of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Madison Payne, Chesney Bottoms, Zachary Sheffield; great-granddaughter, Rayleigh Sheffield; nephews, Robert Brookshire, Wesley Brookshire, Damon Lockridge; nieces, Amy Bauer, Jamey Roland, Jessica Roland, Dione Lockridge; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sept. 29 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Henry officiating. Interment followed in the Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
