Clayton Stowers Wallace, 89, of Dawsonville, died July 24, 2015.

Born Sept. 29, 1925 in Hall County to the late J. Stowers and Jamey Wallace, he lived most of his life in Dawson County.

Mr. Wallace was formerly employed by Lockheed Aircraft and Big Canoe.

For a period of time he owned and operated Clayton Wallace Garage and was a farmer.

Clayton was a member of Harmony Baptist Church.

His daughter, Eleanor Wallace Swafford; sisters, Clara Mae Fausett and Ione Wallace; and a brother, Clyde Wallace, also preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Hazel Smith Wallace of Dawsonville; son-in-law, Gerald Swafford of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Beth and Brent Covington of Dawsonville; sister, Grace Pirkle of Dawsonville; sister-in-law, Barbara Wallace of Dawsonville; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. July 27 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jason Hamby, Stephen Davis and Stevie Warren officiating. Interment followed in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
