Clayton Grier, 78, of Cumming, died July 26, 2011.
He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Mayfield Baptist Church.
His parents, W.H. and Alma Grier; and a son, Melvin Grier, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Verlene Grier of Cumming; daughters and son-in-law, Donna Marie Rogers of Dawsonville, Vicki and Jerry Lance of Auburn; granddaughters, Christina Marie Atwell of Dawsonville, Ashley Nicole Turner of Murrayville; brothers, Dean Grier of Cumming, Herbert Grier of Buford; sisters, Frances Curry, Maudine DeLong, both of Gainesville, JoAnn Smith of Cumming; brothers-in-law, Cecil Bennett of Cumming, Winfred Bennett of Dawsonville; sisters-in-law, Imogene Barrett of Cumming, Martha Turner of Ball Ground; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. July 28 at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Scott Sorrells,
Wilbur Ridings and Nathan Martin officiating. Interment followed in Mayfield Baptist Church Cemetery.
Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
