Clarence Jeral Stanley, 87, of Dahlonega, died Aug. 13, 2018.
He was born to the late Samuel and Roma Stanley. Clarence was a member of High Shoals Baptist Church. He was a Minister of the Gospel for more than 40 years at which times he pastored High Shoals, New Bethel, Pleasant Hill and Christian Hill Baptist Churches. Clarence was a United States Army Veteran who served during the Korean War and was an avid deer hunter.
His sister, Marjorie Bearden, and son-in-law, Gary Hughes, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Edna Stanley of Dahlonega; children, Barbara Hughes of Cumming, Linda and Barry Hill of Cumming, Gail and Paul Chapman of Charlotte, N.C., Hope Merrill of Canton; grandchildren, Farah Hughes (Jason) of Woodstock, Ga., Patrick Hughes of Cumming, Ginger Ivy of Denver, Colo., Christopher Ivy (Kristen) of Sedalia, Colo., Anna Chapman of Charlotte, N.C., Katy Chapman of Charlotte, N.C., Jym Chapman (Leigh) of Jasper, Mary Chapman (Austin) of Gettysburg, Pa., Sara Chapman of Charlotte, N.C., Benjamin Cork, III of Marietta, Zachary Cork of Marietta; great-grandchildren, Alycia Hill of Birmingham, Ala., Tessa Ivy of Sedalia, Colo.; numerous nieces and nephews; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Aug. 17 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Jack Biddy and Danny Evans officiating. Interment followed the service at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.
The family received friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 15 and Aug. 16 and from 1 p.m. until the service time Aug. 17.
Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
