Clara Louise Bennett Smith, 92, of Dawson County, died April 7, 2012.

Born Oct. 2, 1919, in Forsyth County to the late Arch and Ola Hughes Bennett, she lived most of her life in Dawson County.

Louise was a virtuous woman who loved the Lord and always wanted to tell you about her wonderful friend, Jesus Christ.

It was her prayer that everyone she came in contact with knew about the Lord's saving grace.

She lived her children and grandchildren with the most unconditional love any person could show.

Louise was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Gainesville.

She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends she has made over her long life.

The family would like to thank the Dawson County Senior Center for making Granny's last year's wonderful. She enjoyed being there very much.

Her husband of 64 years, Glenn Smith; son, Paul Smith; sisters and brothers-in-law, Corene and Roy Jenkins, Geneva and Gene Cook; brothers and sisters-in-law, Laina and Gladys Bennett, Lyman and Tommie Bennett, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her sons and their wives, Lyman and Tommie Smith, Gene and Brenda Smith, Terry and Rita Smith; daughter-in-law, Betty Smith; grandchildren, Sondra Smith, Stoney and Tonya Smith, Rocky and Tammy Smith, Joey and Heather Smith, Matthew and Amanda Smith, Josh and Amy Smith, Vicki and Grady Turner, Scott and Angie Smith, Bucky Smith, Rusty Smith, Randy Smith, Michele and Roger Cherico, Dawn Kinney and Charlie Smith; 26 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Parker, Sara Sheffield; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. April 9 at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Lamar Purcell and Lamar "Marty" Askew officiating. Interment followed in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
