Clain Swafford

Clain Swafford, 91, of Dawsonville, died Feb. 12, 2016.

Born May 13, 1924 in Forsyth County to the late Hugh and Alice Swafford, he lived most of his life in Smyrna and Dawson County.

Mr. Swafford retired from Montag and Mead Paper Company after 42 years of service.

Clain served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

He was a member of Juno Baptist Church.

His wife of 69 years, Lemma Swafford; daughter, Brenda Diane Swafford; sister, Grace Swafford; brothers, Grady Swafford, Carl Swafford, Herman Swafford and Harold Swafford, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his special friends and caregivers, Tony and Karen Weaver; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Feb. 14 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Dennis Bottoms and Gerral Richards officiating. Interment followed in the Juno Baptist Church Cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
